How do you sum up a life of 82 years? Sharon was a powerful soul; leading the way for all she knew in love, generosity, and determination. A friend to so many, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love of family, including a wealth of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a gift to everyone who knew her.
Sharon passed away as she lived, with strength; surrounded by the love and light of her family, with a beautiful sunrise, as she made her transition from wife and mother to guardian angel.
Sharon grew up in Kansas and was one of six siblings born to Gerald and Dorothy Godbout. A loving sister to Paul Godbout of Mesquite NV, she now joins her heavenly parents and siblings, Jerry and James Godbout, Joyce Clark, and Pat Volpe.
Sharon met her best friend and soulmate, Fran, at the age of 16, while he was stationed at Fort Riley, KS. It was a love-at-first-sight meeting. They soon traveled to Fran's hometown of Footedale, PA to start their family. They would later move to Wallingford, CT where she built a long beautiful life; having 7 children, James, Sissy, Frank, Ron, Theresa, Danny, Nina, and having 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and growing.
Sharon and Fran would later move to Little River, SC in 1996. She would go on to share many adventures with Fran, traveling to many beautiful places and traveling to see the abundance of family and friends throughout the United States and Italy. She would live to share 65 wonderful years of marriage.
To commemorate her incredible journey and celebrate the love she spread, a memorial service will be held in her honor at a future date. At that time, we invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman.
