Sandra Lee Hargis

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Hargis, 76, passed away at her home on May 27, 2022 with her husband by her side. Born in Trenton, NJ, on March 22, 1946, Sandy was a daughter of the late Clyde and Virginia Bette Hilliard Stockslager.

A graduate of Towson University, Sandy taught in Frederick County Public School system, Frederick County, MD. A career change brought Sandy to Laurel, MD where she pursued a career in real estate for 30 years before retiring.

Relocating to the Myrtle Beach area in 2014, Sandy and Jerry met many new friends and she was very active in the Lakes of Plantation Pines where they resided. She was an artist and had a love of knitting, and crocheting. Sandy also enjoyed playing cards, aerobics, gardening and most importantly loved being with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry Nye; sister, Greta Meyers (husband, Frank Pritchet); stepdaughter, Tracie Nye; and granddaughter, Danielle Meyers. She is also survived by a special niece, Terri Frostick and three great-nephews Kenny Moody, Hunter Frostick, and Logan Frostick. Preceding Sandy in death was her sister, Sally Ann Stockslager.

A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at a later date in her hometown of Hagerstown, MD.
