Robert H. Bava

Robert was born on November 8, 1930 to parents Blanche (Valerga) and Guido Bava in San Jose, California. After graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School in San Jose, he served in the US Navy for four years. His service included two years in the Philippines and he achieved the rank of AK2. Following his discharge he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from San Jose State. Robert spent most of his 32-year career employed by Johnson and Johnson Corporation first based in Menlo Park, California and then New Brunswick, NJ. He retired as a Division Director and then moved with Pat to North Myrtle Beach in 1990.

Bob was a long-time member of the Surf Club where he was an avid golfer. He volunteered with Mobile Meals and the North Myrtle Beach Lions Club. He enjoyed playing Bridge, travelling the world, dancing, and reading.

He is survived by son Richard (Debbie), Edison, NJ, daughter Shari O’Neill (Frank), Northport, NY, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

The memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90 Little River, SC 29566.

Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and the American Legion Post 186.

Inurnment will be at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, North Myrtle Beach.
