Nadia M. Kidd, 78, passed away suddenly on August 2, 2021. She was surrounded by the most important people in her life – her family.
She was born on July 7, 1943 in Ripley, WV. She was the daughter of the late Paul Madison and Martha M. Dawkins Tabor and lived in Yawkey, WV for most of her childhood.
Nadia attended Duval High School in Griffithsville, WV, and met her husband, James A. Kidd, at a high school football game. They married shortly thereafter. Nadia may (or may not) have realized that she would spend the next 52 years watching football with her husband until his death in 2012.
Nadia and James went on to have four children. They moved from their beloved hometown of Alum Creek, WV, to Surfside Beach, SC in 1984. Together they built a small family business, Concrete Designs, Inc., in Myrtle Beach, SC. The business continues to thrive under the management of their daughter and grandson.
Nadia Kidd is survived by three of her children, James A. “JA” Kidd, II (Rita), Jill Kidd and Janai Kidd; one sister, Paula Tabor; six grandchildren, James A. “Jimmy” Kidd, III, Jessica K. Richardson, Tyler Newman, Adam Bukres, Nadia Bukres, and Reagan Kidd; and one great grandchild, Camryn Richardson.
Funeral services will be held at 5 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Grand Strand Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 4 pm, one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be private with the family following the service. Nadia’s final resting place will be next to her husband at Belin Cemetery in Murrells Inlet, SC. Rev. Freddie Young will officiate.
