Mary Eugenia Bellamy, 85, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2020.
She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Edna Permenter Bellamy. Eugenia was born and raised on a farm which is now the Bellacroft Community off Highway 90. She graduated from Wampee High School and Columbia College.
She worked for the State Government and retired after 31 years with the Industrial Commission of Columbia, SC. Eugenia returned to the Grand Strand area in 1993 and attended the Little River Methodist Church. Eugenia lived for the last three years at Brightwater.
Eugenia is survived by her loving partner of 62 years, Walter Mergner; a beloved brother, Herbert “Hubby” L. (Hazel); a beloved sister, Greta Torrence (Virgil); and many nieces and nephews whom she loved so dearly. She was predeceased by her sisters, Annie Lou Hugley and Margaret Whitton.
A private graveside service will be held for the family.
