Jerry David Gordon, 61, of Little River SC passed way September 28, 2018 at McLeod Loris Hospital.
Jerry was born January 28, 1957 in Mooresville, NC to Felton B. Gordon and Margaret Tuck Foster.
Jerry attended Northwest Cabarrus High School in Concord, NC and enlisted in the United States Air Force upon graduation. This is where he met his soon to be wife, Janice Linker. He and Janice were married February 26, 1977 at Memorial Baptist Church in Kannapolis.
Over Jerry’s 24 years in the USAF he was stationed at various duty stations foreign and domestic. The highlight of his Military career was from 1988 to 1992 when Jerry and family were stationed at Nellis Air Force base in Las Vegas, NV as a member of the USAF Thunderbirds Demonstration Team. Jerry retired from the USAF as Master Sergeant in 2000 from Charleston Air Force Base.
Jerry went from serving his Country to serving his Community when he joined the North Myrtle Beach Police Department in 2002. He served with the North Myrtle Beach Police Department until his passing. If you knew or heard of Jerry only kind words would be said. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, never was too busy to talk and never met a stranger. He had a smile that was contagious and was the type of man most strive to be.
Jerry loved traveling with his family and friends and spending time with his grandkids.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janice Linker Gordon; one son, Justin (Evelyn) Gordon and their children, Sidney and Jerry; two brothers, Randy Gordon (Teresa), Steve Gordon (Debbie); two sisters, Sheila Bost (Bo), and Janice Nash (Rick). He was preceded in death by his father, Felton B. Gordon, his mother, Margaret Tuck Foster, stepfather, Tom Foster and his father-in-law, Billy Ray Linker.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 4 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, with full military honors, will be at 11 am on Monday, November 5, 2018 in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
