Robert was born to parents Victor and Adeline Vicich on April 15, 1950 in Lincoln, IL. He grew up as the younger of two siblings and attended Morton West High School. After graduating from Morton, he attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Robert worked for many years in the technology service industry, eventually retiring from Kodak in 2013.
Robert married Cynthia Delgado in 1978, and although the marriage ended in 1997, the couple had three children. After retiring, Robert enjoyed watching and playing Golf; keeping up-do-date on the latest gadgets and gizmos; tinkering with RC cars; and loving his three grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and John Neu; his son, Daniel Vicich; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Katie Vicich; his sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Elwood Betts; his two granddaughters, Rebecca and Natalie Neu; his grandson, Logan Vicich; his niece and her husband, Julie and Rich Massey; and his great-niece, Kate Massey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Adeline; and his nephew, Gary Betts.
A memorial service will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home on November 29th from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a short remembrance service at 6:00 pm. Dinner to follow at Wheatstack Restaurant in Lisle from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The family is grateful for the condolences but in lieu of direct donations, would prefer all donations be made to The American Cancer Society in Robert’s honor (Donate Today | The American Cancer Society).
