AUBURN: Marjorie A. Edwards, 93, of Lisbon Falls passed away Saturday morning at Clover Manor in Auburn. She was born in Boston, MA on February 19, 1921 the daughter of the late Wingate and Mabelle (Owen) Thomas. She grew up in the Somerville area and attended local schools there. After high school, Marjorie received a degree in business. On September 12, 1942 she married Donald W. Edwards in Everett, MA. Because of Donald’s proud service in the military, they moved from Massachusetts to California and back again before finally moving to Maine in 1959 where they would stay. While in Maine, Marjorie taught kindergarten for the Lisbon Falls Christian Academy for many years. She loved making quilts and sewing. She was also very keen on singing and playing music, especially with her family, which is very musically inclined. She was a very dedicated mother who loved spending much quality time with her family and also with her friends whenever she could. She was a member of the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church and she was very involved there as well. Marjorie is survived by her seven children; Stephen and his wife Carolyn of Madison, AL, Barbara Edwards and her husband Chuck of Spearfish, SD, Philip and his wife Mary of Lisbon, Paul and his wife Carol of Topsham, Ginny Barrett and her husband Peter of Litchfield, Dan and his wife Dena of Vermillion, SD, and Cippa McBride and her husband Mark of Sabattus. She also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and her beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald in 1982, her three brothers; Nelson, Foster and Richard and a nephew, David Edwards. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday July 29 from 4-7pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will take place at 10 am on Wednesday July 30 also at the funeral home followed by a committal service at Hillside Cemetery in Lisbon Falls.
