April 14, 1987- June 8, 2024
Our beloved Ryan Edward Schmalz, 37 years young, tragically left this life and us on Saturday morning, June 8th.
Although his time with us was brief, the depth of love he brought us will live on in our hearts forever. His absolute love of skateboarding and adventure-seeking will keep our memories of Ryan joy-filled as we come to terms with this tragic loss of life. You were, are, and will always be deeply loved.
Ryan so loved skateboarding and wanting to share his passion with the world, that he created his own business, New Life Cruisers with friend, Danny Ryder. Taking used or discarded skateboards which they collected from trash cans and other locations, together they gave them “new life”. Some of these are on display. In a wonderful way, they created works of art that could be skated on as well.
Ryan will be forever loved by his wife and best friend, Sindee Schmalz, daughter, Luna Rae and son, Bodhi Wolfgang; his father, Paul Schmalz and mother, Colleen Reynolds; stepmothers, Karen Schmalz and Gladys Moore; mother-in-law, Janet Fernandez, father-in-Law, Orlando Fernandez, Sr. (deceased); Ryan’s brother, Paul R. Schmalz and wife Kirby Schmalz; Sister, Jen Del Re; brothers-in-law, Derek Fernandez and wife, Eva, and Orlando Fernandez, Jr. and wife, Jubell. With them and his aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, Ryan will always be remembered for the joy and laughter he brought into the world.
