Maria Herminia Goncalves

Maria H. Dias de Oliveira Goncalves, 77, of Elizabeth, N.J., passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, peacefully in her home.

Born in Oliveira do Bairro, Portugal, Maria came to the U.S. and Elizabeth in 1970. She was a production operator for General Motors in Linden, N.J., where she worked for 25 years, retiring in 2000. She was a talented seamstress, enjoyed gardening, and offered a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Maria was a beloved wife to her late husband Antonio A. Goncalves; A devoted mother to Rui Goncalves and his wife, Mary; A loving grandmother to Gabriella, Isabel, Carlos, Sophia, Tomas, and Martin; A great-grandmother to David, and a wonderful friend to so many.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 16th. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave Linden, NJ 07036, (908) 352-9190. Funeral Services will also be held on Friday, June 17th at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, and Entombment will follow afterwards at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
