Wayne was born to James and Mable Lee on August 1, 1940 in Page County, Iowa. After moving to Omaha, NE at the age of 10, he and his mother lived with his Aunt and Uncle. If you were lucky, you heard tales of his pet racoon that liked to get him in trouble.
After high school he started in the automotive parts business. Over the years he worked at several of the area auto dealerships and even owned his own parts business with his wife for a few years. After 56 years in automotive parts, he retired as Parts Manager from Lexus of Lincoln.
In 1997, Wayne started an embroidery business with his wife Joyce, which he continued to be active in until his death. His favorite hobbies included coin collecting, fishing, traveling and gold prospecting. Due to his love of travel, especially Aruba, a few of his ashes will be spread off the coast of Aruba.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Joyce; two daughters Tena Walker and Amanda Malcolm and her husband Michael; five grandchildren, Chad and James Varejcka, Megan and Sidney Walker, and Dante Malcolm. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Joyce R and Elizabeth R Lee, daughters Carmella Jones and Teresa Lee, and grandson Edward Varejcka.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 2nd at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE 68512. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences to www.lincolnfh.com.
