Mary Ann (Ann) Shunkwiler, 77, of Lincoln, passed away January 24, 2016, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 8, 1938 in Sutton, to Gideon and Johanna Griess. Married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth (Bud) Shunkwiler in 1957. Retired from Ameritas after 29 years of service. Was very active in bowling and camping with the Hitchhiker’s group. Ann was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Family members include her husband, Kenneth; sons, Terry and wife Sandi, and Gary and wife Kathy. Grandsons, Kyle and wife Katy, Brett and wife Lindsey, Ethan and wife Stephanie, and Cody. Granddaughters Jenna and husband Erik White, Tiffany and husband Brenton Roby, Tracy and husband Zane Schulz. Great grandchildren, Kylinn, Brennan, Hadlee, Emilee, Everly, Easton, Asher, Sienna, Karver, and Adalyn. Brothers, Lawrence (Opal), Don (Karen), Kenny (Carol). Sisters Inez (Don) Krass, Jeanie Rath, Aldine (Ron) Rowe, Erna Griess, Kathy (Bob) Harrison. Sisters-in-law, Sharon Griess (Wesley) and Sharon Griess (Robert). Brothers-in-law Wesley (Maxine) David, Keith and Billy Shunkwiler. Sisters-in-law Marlene Neilson, Dell Shunkwiler, Linda (Roger) Herbek and many life-long friends. Proceeded in death by her parents, Gideon and Johanna Griess, two brothers, Robert and Wesley, brother-in-law Curt Shunkwiler and grandson, Adam Shunkwiler. Visitation will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home Wednesday night the 27th from 7 to 9p.m. Funeral services will be January 28th at 10:00a.m. at Hope Community Church.
