She was born to Patricia Shipe and Donald Rodman in Lincoln, Nebraska and attended Lincoln Northeast High School.
Laura loved life and everyone in it. She loved to serve the church she was a member at and had a special heart for children with disabilities. She showed special love to those children that she would come in contact with, trying to bring a smile to their faces. Even though Laura couldn't have children herself, she tried to bring the best to those children in need. She enjoyed her friendships with those close to her. Every person she met she would try to lift them up.
Laura graduated from Joseph's College of Beauty School where she worked for a few years as a beautician; amongst a few other odd jobs.
Laura's health was failing the last 28 years and had to go on disability after having over 150 surgeries in her adult life and many health challenges. She was always able to keep in good spirits with a positive attitude and smile. Chronic pain did not keep her down. Pushing forward to tame life was her goal.
Laura is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Donald Hoffman Jr.; mother, Patricia Shipe; brother, Donald Rodman; aunt and uncle, Twila and Ernie; step-sisters; father-in-law; sister-in-laws; nieces; and great nieces and nephews. She was loved by all. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
A funeral service will be held at Capitol View Church, 1645 A Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68502 on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 3:00 PM. All are welcome.
