Early Sunday, November 7, 2021, Jennifer Pinkerton, loving wife, and devoted mother of three daughters, passed away only days after her 43rd birthday. Her death resulted from a very sudden and unexpected cardiac event.
Jennifer was born November 1, 1978, in San Antonio, Texas to David & Susan (Wagner) Haley. She married Terrence Scott Pinkerton June 3, 2000, and together they were raising three daughters, Sarah, Ellen, & Phoebe.
Jennifer was raised in an Army family, moving every few years, experiencing new places & different cultures as a child. Perhaps as a response to that wandering lifestyle, she put down some very deep roots when it came to raising her own family.
She was a self-taught professional photographer, and her special love was capturing the children around her as they grew, matured, and moved into adulthood.
Being born on All Saint’s Day, Jennifer had a special affinity and love for all things Halloween, and this was evidenced by her enthusiastic decorating, and sewing different coordinated costumes for her children every year, and sometimes for her nieces & nephews.
Jennifer left her home state of Texas shortly after her birth, but always thought of herself as a Texas girl and made a point of returning each spring to visit her many friends, and to photograph her daughters amid the abundant wildflowers of the Texas Hill Country.
The last couple of years brought a very unexpected new role to Jennifer, that of Band Mom. With all three daughters in the marching band, she flung herself into doing whatever was needed to help and support the band kids however she could. Sometimes that meant encouraging spirit by introducing Nebraska to a Texas tradition of homecoming mums, waiting up for kids to get home from games or competitions, and sometimes fundraising. One of her proudest moments shortly before her death was when Papillion-LaVista South competed in the Nebraska State Bandmasters’ competition, and she was able to be on the field, holding one of the props, as all three daughters helped win the state title.
Jennifer is survived by her beloved husband Scott, daughters Sarah, Ellen and Phoebe, parents Susan and David Haley, sisters Betsy (Steven) Post and Angie (Chris) Carter, nieces Samantha Post and Raven Pinkerton, nephews Toby Post and Henry Carter.
