Diane Joy Humann of Cortland, passed away May 12, 2015 at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 4, 1942 to George and Olinda (Wertz) O'Malley in St. Paul, Minn. Diane was a homemaker and later worked as a caregiver at Lakeview Retirement Home in Firth, retiring after 18 years of dedicated service. She had an adventurous heart, loved to travel, was a Husker fan, as well as a lover of the written word and animals. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends and was a member of various women's groups in her community. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Humann; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Humann; her parents, George O'Malley and Olinda Swanson. Diane is survived by her sister, Jeanette Gill of Lincoln; her children, Michael Humann of Firth, Andrea Humann of Philadelphia, and Dustin and Tessa Humann of Hampton. Diane had three grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She will forever be in our hearts and we are grateful for the journey with her. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15, at Cortland United Church in Cortland.
