Darlene Stalder, age 86, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Darlene was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Letha and Fred Johnson on April 20, 1937. She worked at Skyline Cafe where she met Charles (Pete) Stalder. The two married on June 1, 1954. From this union came five children, Rick, Patty, Peggy, Sonja, and Mike. She was a homemaker who babysat for many families. Once all the children moved out on their own, she went to work at Pamida, Bankers Life, Carol Wright Gifts, Shopko, Four Star Drug, and Target where she retired from. In 2015 she was diagnosed with dementia. After Pete passed in 2017, she remained in the home where Sonja took care of her. In 2023 she moved into a memory care facility until her passing.
Preceded in death by her parents, siblings Bill, Betty, Rollie; husband Pete, daughter Peggy-Sue.
Survived by her children, Rick (Karen) Stalder, Patty (Kitt) Sindel, Sonja Buchanan, and Mike (Kay) Stalder; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson; and sister Mary (Bill) Addison.
