December 14, 1955 - December 21, 2022
Craig Allan Nelson, 67, of Lincoln, passed away Dec. 21, 2022. Service: 2 p.m. Jan 3 at Lincoln. He is survived by his mother Donna Nelson, Brother Scott Nelson, Sister Kristi Nelson-Hitz, Daughter Jennifer Nelson, Son Kevin Scott Nelson, Daughter Taylor Nelson-Cox, Grandson Derrick Seay, and Granddaughters Hazel and Harper Cox.
Craig came into this world ready to wreak havoc. From his younger years playing car tag with his buddy Jim all the way to having sock wars with his kids. It was nothing but jokes like, “hey pull my finger”, or, “hold my beer and watch this.” He was full of life, but even more so full of love. It was once said that the real reason he was such a big guy was because he needed all that space for his heart. He was the first person to be there in a moment of need. He was the first person to answer all the tough questions anyone seemed to have. He could, in our eyes, fix anything or would come up with a plan or idea of how to accomplish a task. There was a saying we all went by, “If Grandpa can’t fix it we’re all screwed.” He truly was our family's compass and always seemed to point us in the right direction no matter how difficult the journey seemed to be. Craig, a friend, a Son, a Brother, a Dad, and the world’s best Grandpa is going to be more than missed.
A visitation for Craig will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
