Cheryl A Decker

Cheryl A Decker, age 64, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Cheryl was born in Lincoln on August 16th, 1958 to Delbert and Theresa Settles. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She married Wayne Decker in 1982 and from this union came their son Josh. She was a hard worker, working at Mutual of Omaha. She battled Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years, but she didn't let it affect her spirit, still staying positive throughout. She was blessed with a very strong faith and she enjoyed saying the rosary daily. She was always helping others, even going so far as wanting to donate brain tissue to the Rocky Mountain MS Center to try to help others on their journey with MS.

She loved giving gifts to her family, especially from QVC. She loved her granddogs Mixie (Mitsy) and Stevie. She loved hearing stories, especially of Josh's fishing adventures. She had quite the sweet tooth, enjoying cookies especially. She enjoyed watching Law & Order along with daytime court tv. She was a very kind soul and a lot of fun. She will be deeply missed.

Preceded in death by her husband Wayne Decker.

Survived by her parents Delbert and Theresa, her siblings Patty Settles, Barb Settles, David (Marcia) Settles, Donald (Edna) Settles, and Jim (Dori) Settles; her son Josh (Holly) Decker; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Tabitha for the care they showed Cheryl. She absolutely loved her nurses there.

A memorial celebration will be held May 19th, 2023 at 10am at Our Lady of Carter Lake Church, 3501 North 9th Street, Carter Lake, Iowa.
