Chuck was born in Lebanon, IN and was raised in Zionsville, IN. by his adoptive parents Roy and Harriette (Baumer) LaFollette. Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Roy LaFollette. Chuck is survived by his wife of thirty-two years Janet (Leopold) LaFollette, two step daughters, Lisa Blush and Amy Blush Lincoln, NE.; two sons, Scott LaFollette and Ryan LaFollette (wife Tiffany) Seattle, WA.; He is also survived by nine grandchildren Tyler, Ashley, Tanner, Daphney, Amaya, Grace, Jaydon, Ava, and Hailey.; sisters Sharon Bachman (husband Tim) Madisonville, KY.; Karen LaFollette Ft. Meyers, FL.; and brother Dan LaFollette, Lebanon, IN.
Chuck graduated from Zionsville High School. He went on to serve four years in the U.S. Air Force as a security policeman. After leaving the Air Force Chuck served seven years with the Cheyenne, WY. Police Department. Chuck attended Bellevue University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration.
Chuck was hired by the U.S. Marshals Service in 1988 and served until 2012 when he retired. Chuck first served in the Los Angeles, CA office for two years then transferred to the Lincoln, NE. sub office for twelve years. He was promoted to Senior Inspector in 2001 and was assigned to the U.S.M.S. Tactical Operations Division. He was especially proud of being a member to the Special Operations Group.
After retiring from the Marshals Service Chuck started a Risk Management/Security Consulting business. Chuck continued this work until diagnosed with cancer. He served in his community as well. Chuck was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Nebraska State EMS Board in December 2013 and served until diagnosed. Chuck was an active member of Faith Bible Church serving as the Director of Security.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at Faith Bible Church (6201 South 84th Street, Lincoln, NE 68516) on Saturday, September 1st, at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to the Lincoln People’s City Mission or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family thanks everyone for their help and support.
