Carol graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1953. Following graduation, she was in the nursing program at University of Nebraska - Omaha and graduated in 1954. She worked for a period of time as a keypunch operator for Northern Natural Gas, followed by employment at Omaha Public Schools, and finally retiring from her data entry position at Centel Corp. after 19 years. She was also a Chaplain for Job's Daughters International.
On April 2, 1966 she married the love of her life, Woodson Lawrence Stovall. From this union, five children were raised. One of Carol's fondest memories was camping with her family and bowling. Carol will be remembered for her green thumb. Every Sunday, she made bouquets for her church from her personal garden. Her home was always filled with love and plants that she tended to daily. Carol had a strong faith and was a member of Capitol City Christian Church, participating in numerous bible study groups.
Carol is survived by her children, Steven (Dianne) Stovall, Toni (John) Sheehan, Terry (Julie) Stovall, Tammie Bouquet, Pamela Murphy; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Hand; along with nieces, nephews, and cherished loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodson; parents, Paul and Gini; and brother, Richard.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Service for Carol following at 10:00 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512.
A reception will immediately follow at Capitol City Christian Church 7800 Holdrege St.
Private interment at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln.
