Tony was born November 15, 1946 to Thomas (Swede) L. Piper and Opal L. (Schirmer) Piper in Washington, Iowa. Tony attended Mount Pleasant High School. He moved his family to Omaha, NE to work at the Meat Packing Plant. Later moved to Lincoln, NE as a professional truck driver for “CF” Consolidated Freight where he retired with them. Tony also worked for the Lincoln Public Schools for nearly ten years.
Tony married Patricia Bouman on September 26, 1992.
Tony enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, playing his guitar and singing country western songs with his friends. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
He is survived by his devoted wife Patty; daughter, Shelly (Donnie) Burgess of Bellevue, NE; son Timothy Piper of Omaha, NE; 2 step-children: Michalle (Donnie) Hall of Lincoln, NE; Michael (Dawn) Wilson of Plattsmouth, NE; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother Dallas ( Betty) of Keller, TX; sister Sondra Brecht of New London, IA; and twin sister Connie (Chuck) Mears of New London, IA. Several nieces and nephews.
