Dan was born in Chicago, Illinois. Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1965, he entered the Aviation Officer Candidate School at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida in November 1966 and commissioned an Ensign in February 1967. He served two tours in Vietnam. Dan retired after 27 years of service with the rank of Captain. After his retirement he continued to serve as a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital.
In his civilian life Dan was a partner of ICOM Mechanical, Inc. He also obtained a Master of Business Administration Degree from Pepperdine University, and a Master’s Degree from Naval War College.
Dan will be remembered by his wife Mercedes, his brother Stephen, his sister Margaret and the extended family.
He was as a quiet, insightful, generous man who loved animals, outdoor, running, golf and skiing.
Dan was predeceased by his parents Dan and Ethel.
A religious service will take place at the Lincoln Methodist United Church.
