Myra Jo Joyce Swint Howard

Myra Joyce Howard, 73, of Elida, went home to be with the Lord, at 2:32 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with A.L.S. She was born June 25, 1940, in Wartburg, TN, to Hugh Edward & Grace (Hamby) Swint who preceded her in death. On February 14, 1961, she married James C. Howard, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1991.

Mrs. Howard was retired from Superior Metals and a faithful member of Marion Baptist Church. She loved to cook for her family and decorate her home. She loved her children and adored her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all of them.

Surviving are four children: Dale (Sandy) Howard, Michelle (Steve) Adcock, Dan (Kelly) Howard and Dennis (Tina) Howard; ten grandchildren: David and Allison Howard, Ryan McNamara, Nathan Adcock, Dawson, Kennedy, Olivia, Derek, Joshua and Brandon Howard; ten brothers: Ed Swint, Frank Swint, Bob (Judy) Swint, Gene (Sharon) Swint, Roy (Rita) Swint, Larry (Betty) Swint, Dean (Donna) Swint, Daniel (Sue) Swint, Carl (Tammy) Swint, Kelly (Helen) Swint; three sisters: Anna Mae Boles, Reba Crites and Velda (Lester) Beasley.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Swint; and two brothers-in-law, Billy Boles and Jack Crites

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with her brother, Kelly Swint officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m., at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
