Elizabeth Gertrude Welker

Elizabeth Gertrude Welker, 96 of Elida, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 2:08 p.m. in Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center where she had been an inpatient. Mrs. Welker was born South Williamsport, Pennsylvania on August 24, 1921 to Harold and Margaret Dorothy (Weber) Keefer and they preceded her in death. On August 24, 1944 she married James D. Welker who died Saturday, February 5, 2005.

Mrs. Welker is survived by her daughters, Sandy (John) Kivimaki of Elida and Sherry Morgan of Lima. A son, James D. Welker, Jr preceded her in death. She is also survived by her grandchildren, David (Kim) Kivimaki, Brian Kivimaki, Todd (Jessica) Kivimaki; her great grandchildren, Zachary, Katelyn, Boston, Grant and Colton Kivimaki; a granddaughter, Hope Kivimaki is deceased. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her siblings, Wayne Butler, Dean Butler and Evelyn Rogers.

Elizabeth was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

Per her request, she wished to be cremated. There will be a Memorial Service at a later date at the convenience of the family. Her cremains will be interred beside her husband in Evergreen Hills Cemetery in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
