Travis was survived by his wife of 55 years, Faye Williams, of Stone Mountain, GA; Children, Jeff Williams (Jenn), of Smyrna, GA, Stephanie Leathers, of Tucker, GA, Matt Williams(Annie), of Johns Creek, GA and Philip Williams of Hollywood, FL, his sister, Diane Whittle of Fort Valley, GA; seven grandchildren, Jackson, Jacob, Katherine, Samantha, Natalie, Emily and Lincoln.
Travis was born on April 18, 1944 in Milan, GA. He was a graduate of Willingham High School, as well as a graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Travis enjoyed attending and supporting all of his children’s and grandchildren’s various activities (and there were many).
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to all who knew and loved him.
He was in the United States Army serving tours of duty in Vietnam and Frankfurt, Germany. Travis was a volunteer at the Gwinnett Veterans Museum in Lawrenceville, GA. He was Presbyterian by faith.
Travis worked for the State of Georgia and was instrumental in implementing its computer system in the 1970’s. He then worked for Warbird as a consultant and forensic accountant.
Travis was cremated and a family gathering will be held on a beautiful Spring day to scatter his ashes in the Scatter Garden at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
The family of Travis Williams would like to extend a most heartfelt thank you to his many caring friends for their expressions of kindness.
Travis was a good and kind man. If you wish to remember him in a special way, hug someone you love and think of him when you do.
He will be missed.
