Michael (Mike) Demont Beekman, a beloved resident of Loganville, Georgia, bid farewell to this world on Monday, June 3, 2024 at the age of 78, after valiantly battling cancer. He was born on July 9, 1945, in Clearwater, Florida.
Throughout his lifetime, Mike endeared himself to all who crossed his path. His warm smile and gentle demeanor illuminated every room he entered, spreading joy and kindness wherever he went. Mike possessed a rare gift for making even the simplest moments memorable, filling the lives of those around him with laughter and love.
In his professional life, Mike was a beacon of dedication for 32 years at AT&T/Lucent Technologies. He approached his work with a commitment to excellence, earning the admiration and respect of colleagues and peers alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mike's true legacy lies in the countless lives he touched through his boundless generosity and unwavering compassion. He was a pillar of strength and support for his family and friends, always ready with a listening ear, a comforting embrace, or a word of encouragement.
Mike's passions were as diverse as they were numerous. Whether he was riding his beloved Harley Davidson, exploring the great outdoors, or simply spending quality time with loved ones, he approached every endeavor with an irrepressible spirit of adventure.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Flora Beekman; and his brothers Raymond, Bill and Ron. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Creta; and his children Michelle (Kevin) Gorman and Michael (Dani) Beekman; grandchildren Riley Shea Gorman, Turner Michael Beekman, and Brooks Michael Beekman; his sister Glenda (Dan) Tidwell; his former wife Eileen Beekman and the mother of his children Donna (Steve) Root and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church (6320 Sandy Creek Road, Loganville, GA 30052) on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Johnnie Crawford officiating.
All who knew and loved Mike are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing cherished memories of his extraordinary life.
