Mason is survived by his only child, daughter Alyssa Renee Babbage, his father Christopher Babbage of Jerome, Arizona, mother LaNell Babbage-Torres of Atlanta, Georgia, siblings Lisa Babbage, Vanessa Torres, Joshua Torres, Tatiana Torres, step-siblings, nieces, nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, as well as his former wife and friend of 25 years, Heather McDonnell (Babbage).
Mason was born in Phoenix Arizona and spent most of his life in Atlanta, Georgia surrounded by friends and family. Mason was a classically trained Chef, earning an Associate of Occupational Science Degree from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in 2006. Mason had a passion for cooking, grilling and entertaining.
Mason was a proficient artist, writer, lyricist, and rapper. He loved hosting parties, telling jokes, and making people smile. He had a gift of engaging people with his colorful storytelling ability and humor. Mason loved basketball, The Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, playing poker, spades, and cookouts.
A private viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Advantage Funeral Home, 500 Harbins Road, NW, Lilburn, GA 30047. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
A Service Honoring the Life of Mason D. Babbage will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Free Chapel Gwinnett, 855 Northbrook Parkway, Suwanee, GA 30024, with the interment immediately following at White Chapel Gardens, 1832 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA 30096.Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life to follow. Details will be provided.
