Dorothy D Haines

Dorothy graduated from Hillsboro High School in Tampa Florida; and then attended Florida Christian College where she met her future husband Marion Edward Haines, Jr. they were married on October 21, 1950 and remained married over 60 years until his passing on June 7, 2011.

Marion and Dorothy moved to Georgia early in their marriage and made Stone Mountain their home for over 50 years. Both Marion and Dorothy drove a School Bus for DeKalb County. Marion for 26 years and Dorothy for 29 years.

Dorothy was a faithful member of the Snellville Church of Christ. Earlier in their lives Marion and Dorothy were founding members of both The Chestnut Drive Church of Christ and The Stone Mountain Church of Christ.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her Father; Mother; Husband; all of her Brothers and Sisters (and their Spouses); and her Daughter Vivian Jill Haines.

Dorothy is survived by her two Children; Vicki Haines Cash and Mark Edward Haines; and two Grandsons Shannon Brent Hill (his Spouse Jamie House Hill) and James Vernon Jones, III (Trey).

Dorothy requested that no funeral service be held. 'Dot/Dottie' (as many friends called her) would want to be remembered first and foremost as a faithful servant of God; secondly as a good wife and loving Mother; and thirdly as a person who enjoyed life and loved to laugh.
