He was the founder of Battleground Starter and Generator in Julian. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and his wife loved traveling and would take a trip every chance they got. Pete always had a joke for everyone and he never met a stranger.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 435 Highway 62 W., Randleman, NC. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marvin Patterson officiating; burial will follow the service at Burnett's Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was the son of the late Edward and Ethel Rickman Brown and was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Sylvia Choate "Syb" Brown; sisters, Audrey Odum, Murtty Moore, Vivian Rash, Shirley McDonald, Georgia Proctor and Mildred Staley; brothers, Colon Brown, Bill Brown, Jesse Brown, John "Cricket" Brown, Donald Brown and Richard Brown.
Pete is survived by his sons, Jerry Brown (Dasha) and Larry Brown (Lynette); daughter, JoAnna DeClue (Keith); seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Mounce; and brother, Teddy "Jimmy" Brown.
