Violet was born to the late Fred and Clara Belle Fuller Glenn in Wellington, Kansas in 1939.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 52 years, Joseph Womble Dickens Jr.; daughters, Tamar Day of Randleman, Bridget (Ron) Beck of Jamestown; sons, Phillip (Lara) Dickens of Liberty; step-son, Danny Ray (Renee) Dickens of Erwin; grandchildren, Amber, Brock, Christy, Jada, Savannnah, Joseph, Ashley, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Glenn of California and Charles Glenn of Kansas.
Faye was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, grandson, Jody Ray Kennedy.
If anyone around needed help with sewing, crocheting, embroidery or crafting, Faye was the lady to call. She loved spending countless hours making one of a kind handmade pieces for the grandchildren, family members and friends. She enjoyed her years spent in the furniture industry helping all the customers she met. To her family Faye will always be remembered for her love of Mickey Mouse, Noah Arks, Elvis and horses. Her home was decorated with each in some unique way. Faye loved baking her famous “rum cake” for all the family and staying up to watch all the old Westerns with her husband JW. The children can share countless memories of throughout the years of how supportive mom was in the events of life and just what a loving and helpful mother she always was. She never missed an event, ball game, band concert, practice or anything she could help keep the children happy. The grandchildren also had the privilege of growing up spending the summers with Faye and JW, learning to sew, watching westerns, eating pies and simple long talks about life, even as adults. JW loved his weekly dinners at the local fish house and Bonnie Kay’s over the years. In the most recent years, when Faye’s health started to decline, Bridget truly enjoyed the quality time she got to spend with her mom going to doctor appointments, Chic-Fil-A and their long conversations along the ride. Faye will truly be missed by all her family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her over the years.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 from 6:00- 8:00 PM at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty at 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC.
A funeral service will be held, Wednesday, August 31st, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Level Cross United Methodist Church located at 10142 US Hwy 220 Bus North, Randleman, NC with burial to immediately follow in the cemetery.
