She was a member of the 1944 graduating class at Nathaniel Greene School and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Elon College. She retired from Hardin's Florist after more than 30 years service. Myrtle always put God and family first. She was a very devoted wife and mother who always assisted her friends, family and community when needed. Myrtle enjoyed gardening, socializing, and traveling.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Coble's Lutheran Church, 5200 Coble Church Road, Julian, NC. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Coble's Lutheran Church; burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Pearl Armfield and Pearl Greeson Shepard and was also preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Wilse "JW" Roberson; and brother, Frank Shepard.
Myrtle is survived by her three sons, Edward A. Roberson and his wife, Mardene, Charles Alan Roberson, and Ronald Roberson and his wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Jason Roberson and his wife Jean, Pamela Roberson, Carol Anne Roberson Oakes and her husband, Brad, Nicole Twiddy and her husband, Tommy; great-grandchildren, Jacob Roberson, Lillian Roberson, Colin Oakes, Catie McRae Oakes, Dillon Twiddy, Tyler Twiddy and Aiden Twiddy.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coble's Lutheran Church, 5200 Coble Church Road, Julian, NC 27283.
