Joel worked for Penn National as a territory manager for 27 years. He was a 1978 graduate of Elon College and an Eastern Randolph High School alumni where he volunteered with the Booster Club. He was a sports fanatic who strongly supported UNC Tar Heels and his ERHS Wildcats. Joel was a gentle soul, a man of strong, enduring faith. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Treasurer. Family was Joel’s number 1 priority, Kristen, Kaitlen and Jamie were his life. He was very proud of his daughters and son-in-law, Daniel. He was a warrior to the very end of his 12 year battle with cancer.
