Since 1979 he owned and operated American Driving School in Lindenhurst, NY. Howie was extremely hardworking, loyal, brutally honest and had a heart of gold. The love he had for his family and animals was indescribable.
He was the son of the late Albert and Loretta Bernstein Laskow.
Surviving is his wife, Margaret Mary Pehrsson; daughters, Sara Schwartz (Dan), Hanna Carter (Evan), Cindy Laskow and Linda Romano (Greg); grandchildren, Leah and Ezra Schwartz and Sophie and Tyler Carter; mother-in-law, Arlene Pehrsson; brother-in-law, John Pehrsson; and his beloved pitbull, "Frankie".
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, Pets for Patriots, 218 E. Park Avenue, Suite 543, Long Beach, NY 11561.
