Sean was born on January 19, 1978 to Phillip Stevenson and wife, Linda in North Kansas City, Missouri. He was a lifelong resident of Liberty, Missouri and attended Liberty High School. Sean was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jim and Leota Stevenson; maternal grandparents, Robert and Peggy Jackson; and his father, Phillip R. Stevenson.
Sean worked in general construction for most of his life and was quite adept at any and all handyman chores. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, including boating, fishing, camping and loved spending time with his family and friends for those activities. Sean enjoyed sports and spent time in his younger years in little league baseball and grew up an avid Royals and KC Chiefs fan. He was a great cook, with his own special recipes, and enjoyed every genre of music. Sean had a quick wit and easygoing personality. He was funny and always willing to help out family and friends with fix it projects or whatever was asked or needed.
He is survived - and will be deeply missed by – his mother, Linda Wilson of Liberty, Missouri; his daughter, Alexis Stevenson of Arcata, California; his sisters, Lisi Berger of Ankeny, Iowa, and Lindy Berger of Liberty, Missouri; his nephew, Brett Ward of Kansas City, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a wonderful father, son, brother, and uncle and will never be forgotten by his family and friends, forever in our hearts.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
"I'm Free"
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found peace at the close of the day
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life has been full, I've savored much
Good friends, good times,
a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free!
