Born December 20, 1962
Deceased August 30, 2018
Janice was born in Kansas City, MO then moved to Liberty to become a lifelong resident. She grew up playing basketball, running track and cross country. Her Great Grandmother, Juanita Bright, Grandmother, Joetta Bright, and Great Aunt, Ollie Bright were such an important part of her childhood, even into her college years. These ladies helped to mold her into the beautiful woman that she became.
She graduated from Liberty HS, and then went on to William Jewell College to continue those sports, which eventually landed her in the hall of fame. Janice pursued and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and then went into the workforce with children at the Marillac Center. After over 15 years of working with children, Janice started working for Wal-Mart, starting as a part time associate in the garden center, eventually working her way to CO-Manager. Janice also loved to travel! She went to Italy, to climb the Swiss Alps, Jamaica to ride horse in the ocean, Ireland to "Kiss the Blarney Stone", Florida, New Orleans, New York and the list goes on and on. Janice was the one behind the camera taking pictures for all to see. The charm in those pictures will never cease to amaze anyone that sees them. They do not hold a candle to the beauty within the person behind the camera.
Janice is survived by her mother, Margaret Hare of California; her partner, Kim Vernon of Liberty, MO; Auntie, Netta; Aunts, Patricia Harris and Pamela Bright; Uncles, Wayman Bright, Richard David Jones; as well as a host of close cousins, family and friends she met along her journey. She was preceded in death by her Great Grandmother, Juanita Bright; Grandmother, Joetta Bright, and Great Aunt, Ollie Bright.
