Eldon George Marley, Jr., 81, of Liberty, Missouri passed away at home on June 25, 2024. A visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 East Franklin Street, Liberty, Missouri. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1 p.m., also at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home.
Eldon George Marley, Jr., was born on June 6, 1943 in Springfield, MO to Eldon Marley, Sr. and Ursa (Connley) Marley. He lived in Excelsior Springs, MO before moving to Liberty, MO in the mid-90s. He worked as a driver for Clay County Highway Department and then for Liberty Public Schools as a custodian until his retirement.
George was a member of St. Luke’s A.M.E. Church in Liberty until its closing, then attended First Baptist Church in Liberty. He enjoyed watching football, rooting for the Miami Dolphins or “whoever was winning” a particular game. He also enjoyed going fishing and playing cards and dominoes with friends and family.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Ursa, and three brothers, David, Terrell, and Basil.
George is survived by his life partner, Audra Smith, Liberty, MO, sister, Veoma Stewart, Omaha, NE, brother, Michael Marley, Kansas City, MO, children, Jasmine Smith-Marley, Robert Williams, Martinique Ewing, Lakeisha Williams, and Teresa Williams, bonus son, Allen Harris, grandchildren, Jenique Graham, DaSohn Redd, Mikayla Williams, Amerakis Harris, Allen Harris, Jr., Acaria Harris, and Janelle Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
