Constantino “Tino” Lopez, born March 11, 1927 peacefully left this life for the next one on January 14, 2016. He joins his wife Leona Lopez who preceded him in a spiritual journey on November 23, 2012. While Tino walked this earth he lost many of his family members and friends. Special consideration is given to his parents, Ricardo and Anita Lopez, his stepchildren Patricia Ann Delaney, Bobbie Wayne Dallenbach and grandson John Patrick Delaney. To balance these life experiences Tino relied on memories of growing up in the Florence Addition and attending Christian Brothers High-school, both places located in St. Joseph, MO. Tino served in two military branches of the armed services. He received honorable discharges from serving in the United States Army and the Navy Reserve. He thoroughly enjoyed 61 years of Marriage to Leona, making Liberty, Missouri their home where they raised two teenagers, and later their grandson. Golfing with friends and competitors was a great past time, as well as socializing with friends in the nightlife of Kansas City. Many winters Tino and Leona spent their time in Arizona surrounded by other couples who enjoyed the warmth the desert provides. When the journeys to Arizona ended, Burger King became the new social place. For many years Burger King was part of their daily routine. Tino believed it contributed to Leona's longevity. He leaves behind many of the wonderful employees there and the friends he met during this time. He volunteered for Clay County Juvenile Courts, as an interpreter. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, contributing to it and many other organizations outside the diocese. He leaves behind many acquaintances and love for the staff and residents at Cedars of Liberty. He appreciated everyone at Cedars and is grateful for their assistance and love. He says goodbye to many nieces and nephews, his loving brothers Pete and Jesse Lopez, a loving sister Mercedes Talbot, respectfully their spouses, all whom reside in St. Joseph, Missouri, and beautiful sister-in-law, Lois Lopez of Oceanside, California. A special goodbye to Luella Wilson, Leona’s niece of St. Joseph, Missouri. Tino wishes us well and many blessings to come as we continue our life here. A visitation will be from 9:00-10:00a.m., Monday, January 18, 2016 with a Celebration of His Life at 10:00a.m., Monday, January 18, 2016 at the St. James Catholic Church, 309 S. Stewart Rd., Liberty, Missouri. Burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to the St. James Catholic Church, Boys Town of Omaha, Nebraska, or to Native American Reservations of the donor’s choice.
