LEESVILLE – Funeral services for Timothy Robert “TJ” Langfitt, Jr., 18, of Leesville will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lexington Church of God, 1331 Nazareth Rd. Lexington, SC 29073. Memorials may be made to Salkehatchie, 4908 Colonial Dr., Columbia, SC 29203, in the memo line write Langfitt memorial for the Fairfield Camp. Pallbearers will be, Dalton Smith, Garrett Knight, Rab Reeder, Gage Sease, Cameron Hallman, Austin Alverson and Kendall Gibson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of JROTC, the Gilbert Football, Soccer and Wrestling teams.TJ was born April 3, 2000 in Columbia, SC and passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018. TJ was a very special, loving, caring and fun-loving child of God. He was a son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend to everyone he met. He loved life and loved sharing it with others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. TJ was an Honor student graduate of Gilbert High School in 2018. He lettered in football, soccer and wrestling, and was a state qualifier in wrestling his senior year. He was a Boy Scout and attained a Life Ranking. He was a member of the JROTC, and Beta Club and was enrolled at USC to begin in the fall. TJ was a Christian and was very active in various church youth groups. He volunteered for the past four years with Fairfield Salkehatchie. He is survived by his parents, Tim and Lisa Langfitt; sister, Shelby Langfitt all of Leesville; grandmother, Laverne Cook of Gilbert (grandpa, Jack Bryant of Blythewood); uncles, Blake D. Cook of Leesville, David S. Langfitt of Irmo, William V. “Bill” Langfitt, III (Patty) of Gresham OR; cousin, Sabrina Langfitt of Gresham, OR and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Shelby J. Cook and William V. Langfitt, Jr.; grandmother, Dot E. Langfitt; cousin, Billy Langfitt and aunt, Joann Langfitt. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
