Born in North Carolina, Teresa always had a love for the beach. Although not fond of swimming, she would spend hours on the pier baiting a hook and waiting for the chance to say she caught the biggest fish. Teresa loved life and had the best sense of humor and always tried to find the positive in any situation. Anyone who met her, fell in love with her instantly.
Teresa leaves behind two daughters, Elizabeth Cumber (Chris) and Jessica Humphrey. She was an amazing grandmother to her grandsons, CJ, Ethan, and Logan Cumber and her granddaughters Bailey Hancock (Jay) and Breanna Cumber. She was also a doting great grandmother to her “Toot-toot”, Piper Cumber.
Teresa will be remembered for her compassion, empathy, unconditional love, and her witty sense of humor. Our lives will forever be changed but her memory and legacy will live on through all of the people she touched. We feel it’s only proper to leave a few pieces of her famous advice - “Don’t take any wooden nickels, they aren’t worth anything” and when bad days occur, “Don’t sweat the small stuff and everything is small stuff”.
