Rose Mary Miller Collier, 87, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023 surrounded by family. Rose Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Collier. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri to John “James” Miller and Rosalia Merk Miller. Rose Mary married Jim in 1958, lived in Germany and various locations in the US. They eventually settled in Columbia, SC. Rose Mary was employed in the medical insurance and management field while raising their six children. She was a wonderful mother, a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren. She was a caring co-worker, a thrifty homemaker and an avid reader, loved sewing and knitting, enjoyed raising finches and had an active green thumb. She had a great sense of humor and loved the time spent with her family. She taught her children to be loyal, hardworking and to respect the welfare and feelings of others.
Rose Mary is survived by her children, Cynthia MacLean, Mary Catherine Malick (William), Cecilia Fricano (John), John Collier, Susan Sagely, Margaret Bernier (Patrick); grandchildren, Elizabeth West (Justin), Johnathon Malick (Merci), Kelly Stone (Austin), Brianna Sagely, JB MacLean and Madison Doucet (Hunter); and great-grandchildren, John, Thomas, Emerson and Everleigh. She was the oldest of five and is survived by her siblings, Joanne Doerr (Jules), Theresa Orrick (Bill), Mary Ellen Niehaus (Butch), James Miller (Kathy) and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with inurnment to follow at 3:00 pm at Bush River Memorial Gardens.
