Robert Templeton

LEXINGTON – Robert R. “Bo” Templeton, Jr., 76, surrounded by family, entered into the presence of his Lord, Thursday, June 26, 2014. Born in Columbia, SC April 22, 1938, he was the son of the late Robert R. Templeton, Sr. and Vera Matthews Tisdale. He was a 1956 graduate of University High School and later attended Duke University. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 through 1958. He retired from the United States Postal Service in November, 1992, after 36 years of dedicated service. He was then the USPS Southern Regional Manager, Labor Relations.

Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Joan Roth Templeton; daughter, Dehone Templeton Toney; son, Robert Micah Templeton; grandchildren, Hoyt, Stephen and Ashley Toney and Chrissy Templeton Coy-Russell; great-grandchildren, Will, Ben, Drew and Brittney; sister-in-law, Janice Roth Irwin and her husband, Richard; aunt, Pansy Matthews Heyward and a host of loving nieces and nephews; special friends and colleagues. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Templeton Glenn. He was a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Cayce, SC

Bob loved watching old cowboy westerns, country music, and cared deeply for animals, especially his “fur kids”, Holly and Mikey. He was an avid Carolina fan and particularly enjoyed Gamecock baseball.

A Requiem Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Dr. theol. Georg Retzlaff officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the funeral home Chapel.
