Mary Bruce Bagwell of Gilbert, SC passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Lexington Medical Center. Mrs. Bagwell was born on July 27, 1950 in Orangeburg, SC to the late Mary Ann Thomas Jeffcoat and late David H. Jeffcoat, Jr.
Mrs. Bagwell was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and Florence-Darlington Tech. She enjoyed her work in dental assisting for over 30 years. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She took great joy in gardening and working in her yard. She always had a vibrant sense of style and love for all things shopping. After a lung transplant, she became a passionate advocate for organ donation and mentor to families considering lung transplant. She was also a faithful member of Beulah United Methodist church.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Ray) Proctor; sons, Gregg Bagwell and Chris (Ashley) Bagwell; sister, Laura (Randy) Zelenak; grandchildren, Wyatt and Claire Proctor, Brandon, Jace, Gammon and Hadlee Bagwell and Anna Paige (Cameron) Cooper; and a nephew, Nicolas Zelenak.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and love of her life, Carl Bagwell; and brother, Gary Jeffcoat.
A visitation will be held from 1:45 PM to 3:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Beulah United Methodist Church, 161 Beulah Church Rd, Gilbert, SC 29054. A funeral service will follow at the church at 3:00 PM, with burial to take place after the service in the church cemetery.
