John Charles Davis

LEXINGTON – John C. Davis, Jr. “Johnny”, 40, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 peacefully in his sleep due to a heart attack. He was born June 21, 1971 in Lexington, SC. Johnny had a zest for life. He loved Clemson football and was a big Jeff Gordon fan. His daughter, Kames was the light of his life.

Surviving are his father and step mother, Chuck and Althea Davis; daughter, Kames L. Davis; brother, Tracy Davis (Rachel) all of Lexington; sister, Vickie L. Venning (Nick) of Manning; maternal grandmother, Sue R. Davis; two nephews and three nieces. There are special people who were a big part of his life, Mindy Fowler, Joy Oswald, Rachel Archibald and Tracy Dawkins. Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Carol a Davis and his brother, Jesse Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with interment in Convent Baptist Church Cemetery in Leesville. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, at the family’s request, memorials may be made to Kames L. Davis Education Fund c/o First Citizens Bank, P.O. Box 29, Columbia, SC 29201 or at any First Citizens Branch.
