James Earl Perry

GILBERT – James E. (Skeet) Perry, 81, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Skeet was born in Saluda, SC on December 27, 1931 to the late Sam Pitts Perry, Sr. and Elizabeth Wilson Perry.

Visitation services will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Woodridge Memorial Park.

Skeet is survived by his wife, Mildred (Millie) Perry of Gilbert, SC; daughter, Tracy Perry Skipper (Skip); sons, Craig Perry (Mary) and Keith Perry all of Lexington; 6 grandchildren, Zachary Perry, Lexie and Peri Jayne Skipper, Kyle and Megan Perry; step-grandaughter, Valerie Samples; 2 sisters, Grace Minick of Saluda and Shirley Padgett of Lexington. He was predeceased by his brothers, Sam, Jr. and Harold Perry.

Skeet graduated from Saluda High School and obtained his college degree from Palmer College in Criminal Justice. Skeet began his employment with the SC Highway Patrol in 1958 and then became Chief

Investigator with the SC Insurance Commission and transferred to the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and retired in 1988 as a Captain.
