James Homer Hudson

James H. Hudson, age 76, of Lexington, SC, passed away on December 7, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. James was born in Dunn, NC on March 19, 1948. James joined the Air Force after graduating from Meadow High School in 1966. He was a retired truck driver for Golden State Foods where he met his wife of 29 years, Jamie. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing trips to the Outer Banks in NC and Lake Murray. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. He had the biggest heart and spent part of his retirement years as “Papa Daycare” for his grandchildren, who adored their Papa James.

James is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jamie; two stepsons, Blake Day (Chasity) and Brooks Day; daughter Kristy Black (Marlon); grandchildren Amber Mock (Austin), Brooklyn and Garrett Day, Collin, Alexis, and Marley Black; great grandchildren McKinlee, RayLynne, Hudson, and Ellie Mae Mock; three sisters, Kathleen McLamb (Leon), Esteen Turnage, and Gaynelle Lee (Larry); and two sister-in-laws, Carolyn and Jackie Hudson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ben “Bunk” and Esther Hudson; two sons, Scott and Brent Hudson; two brothers, twin Jeffro Hudson, and Lenard Hudson; and brother-in-law, Clarence Turnage.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
