LEXINGTON – A graveside service for Eleanor Virginia Shelton, 89, of Lexington formerly of Mauldin will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L. St, NW, Washington, D.C. 20037 or SPCA, 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC 27603.
Ms. Shelton was born December 18, 1925 in Greenville, SC and passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015. She worked for Steele Heddle Textile Manufacturing Company for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 251 in Mauldin, SC and the Reedy River Presbyterian Church. After retirement she enjoyed traveling and more recently enjoyed playing cards while residing at Deep Wood Estates.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn James (Woody) of Lexington; granddaughter, Jennifer Behr (Al) of Charlotte, NC; great-grandchildren, Adelaide, Evelyn and Estelle and nephew, Brian Moore of Tampa Fl. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Shaw and Marie Kellett Major and her sister, Aleda Moore.
