Donald George Wilson, 86, was born June 9, 1936 in Winthroup, MA and passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. He was a son of the late Phyllis Bardwell and George H. Wilson.
Mr. Wilson retired after 38 years as a full time employee of the SC Air National Guard. He served on church council and on the Board of Lake Murray Southside Community Association.
God and family came first. He loved people and enjoyed a good joke and making people laugh. He was a lake lover, a nature lover and a friend to all.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Nell S. Wilson; daughter, Donna Wilson Clarke (James “Mike”); granddaughter, Ashlyn Clarke Lander (Bill); grandsons, Parker J. Clarke and Preston M. Clarke; three great granddaughters and brothers, George E. Wilson (Bebe) and Roger C. Wilson. He was predeceased by his sister, Gladys Benson.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5 at St. John’s Lutheran Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
