Services for Barbara “Bobbie” C. Killian, 94, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at St. James Lutheran Church, Red Bank, SC. Officiating will be Pastor Fred Bartelt. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 1358 South Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29073.
Ms. Killian died on Monday, August 1, 2022. Born in Lexington County, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Washington “Wash” Corley and Bessie O. Roland Corley. She retired from Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and a former member of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #8738. Ms. Killian loved to travel with her family and friends. She loved growing plants and vegetable gardens and gathering her entire family for good home-cooked meals. She served as a “second mother” to her many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren as well. “Aunt Bobbie” was a matriarch for her Corley family.
Ms. Killian is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Glenest Floyd Killian; brothers, James Corley, infant brother George Corley, Tommy Corley; sisters, Edna Taylor, Annie Lou Walker, Mary Anderson, Betty Joyner Rhoten and Jackie Metz.
