She was born in Drummondville, Canada on September 5, 1941, to Juliette (Roy) and Royale Vallieres. Her family arrived in Lewiston in 1946 then moved to Auburn, where she attended school. As was common in most families, she left school and worked as a nurses’ aide to help support her family. Years later, she went on to receive her GED. On July 2, 1962, she married Fernand Goulet, the love of her life, and together they raised four children. For many years, she and her husband were business owners. She also contributed her sewing talents to local shoe shops and Bates Mill, but the position she found most rewarding was being a Memere. She helped raise her grandchildren and showered them with love.
Micheline enjoyed cooking, sewing, entertaining and shopping, however family brought her the greatest joy. She had fond memories of her children at their Thompson Lake camp, spending time with her sister, and watching her grandchildren grow. She was the ultimate host, preparing the most incredible dinner and table display, worthy of being in a Martha Stewart magazine. It was said she had the best coffee shop in town, as you knew she always had a pot of hot coffee and cinnamon coffee cake available when you went to visit.
She modeled family values, shared many stories, and was a trustworthy confidante and advisor. She was a faithful steward and member of Holy Cross Parish.
Micheline was predeceased by her husband of 48 years; her daughter, Denise Dube; her parents; sister Pierrette Cyr; brothers Charles and Gilles Vallieres; sisters-in-law Nan Vallieres and Bernice Vallieres.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Doreen) Goulet; Deborah (Edward) Jalbert and Diane Goulet; grandchildren, Nathan (Kylie) Cyr, Tyler (Brianna) Roy, Nicholas (Morgan Harper) Jalbert, Abby (Brett) Turcotte, Sadie Goulet, Noah Jalbert and Brandon Dube; great-grandchildren, Haley Cyr, Keyanna Moore, Delaney Cyr, Ella Turcotte and Cecelia Jalbert, Baby girl Turcotte due in June and Baby boy Roy due in August; sister-in-law Charlotte Vallieres; brothers Lucien Vallieres, Richard (Gloria) Vallieres and many nieces and nephews.
