William F. Umek of Levittown died on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Chandler Hall Hospice. He was 66. Born in Johnstown, PA, Mr. Umek has been a life long resident of Levittown. He worked in the marketing and finance industry for over 40 years. Mr. Umek loved the outdoors, especially the mountains, and spending time with his wife. He was a bit of a historian who enjoyed discovering things about covered bridges, old trains and old architecture. Mr. Umek was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph the Worker Council #4215. He was Judge of Elections for his local voting area in Levittown, Bucks County for over 35 years. Most especially he loved his grandchildren. Mr. Umek was the beloved husband of Barbara M. (Brittain) Umek for 45 years. He was the loving father of Francine M. McGonagle (Phillip), William S. Umek (Sheila), Robert F. Umek (Jennifer) and Marianne R. Yobb (Joseph). He was the devoted grandfather of Taylor, Katherine, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Zackery, William, Gavin, Caitlyn, Dana, Emily, Nathaniel and Megan. He will also be sadly missed by his sister Christine Mohn; his mother-in-law Marie Brittain; brothers-in-law John Brittain (Kim) and Jan Brittain (Margaret) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Umek and brother-in-law Patrick Brittain. Family and friends are invited to call Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Friends may also call on Monday from 9 until 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
